Per Diem enables three leading restaurants to launch branded ordering experiences

Three distinct restaurant brands with loyal followings have chosen Per Diem to launch their own branded ordering platforms, each with a different concept but a shared goal: strengthen direct relationships with their guests.

Blue Bowl Superfoods, the veteran-owned health-focused café known for its customizable acai bowls and smoothies, recently launched its mobile ordering app with Per Diem across its 11 locations. Founded on the idea that guests should build their own bowl from base to toppings, Blue Bowl has built a strong following around freshness, choice, and consistency. The new app extends that experience beyond the counter, allowing guests to customize orders ahead of time and earn loyalty rewards directly through the brand. To celebrate the launch, Blue Bowl is offering 25 free loyalty stars when customers download the app.

Teague, founder of Blue Bowl Superfoods, has been described as the “Steve Jobs of Acai” for his focus on product and experience. With the new app, Blue Bowl brings that same attention to detail into the way guests order, helping regulars skip the line while staying connected to the brand’s own loyalty program.

In Washington, DC, Arepa Zone has also launched with Per Diem. The Latin American restaurant has spent more than a decade serving authentic Venezuelan flavours to a growing community. Known for its arepas, bowls, and vibrant personality, Arepa Zone introduced both app and web ordering through Per Diem as part of a move to bring delivery under its own first-party channel. By shifting online orders into its branded platform, Arepa Zone keeps its guest data in-house and maintains control over pricing and promotions, while still offering customers the convenience they expect.

In the Midwest, Hungry Hobo, the sandwich shop known for its subs, salads, and soups across Illinois and Iowa, launched both mobile app and web ordering with Per Diem. The fast casual concept has built its reputation on straightforward food and reliable service. With the new platform, Hungry Hobo gives customers a faster way to order ahead and skip the line while keeping the experience fully branded. Online and in-app orders now flow through their own channel, helping the team stay connected to regular guests and maintain control over pricing and promotions. The brand also offers catering services to cater large meals and office orders on their site.

Though their menus and markets differ, Blue Bowl Superfoods, Arepa Zone, and Hungry Hobo share a common approach. Each brand wanted to create a more direct path between its business and its guests. Instead of relying only on third-party marketplaces, they chose to invest in a branded app and web experience that reflects their identity and keeps customer relationships close.

For guests, that means ordering ahead through a familiar brand environment, earning rewards directly from the restaurant, and accessing promotions built specifically for them. For the restaurants, it means clearer visibility into who is ordering, how often they return, and what they love most.

Per Diem builds mobile ordering and online ordering products for cafés and restaurants that use Square point of sale. The company focuses on helping brands offer a simple way for guests to order ahead, earn rewards, and pay online while maintaining control over their customer relationships.
