Per Diem is extending its footprint in Australia as more local cafés and bakeries choose the company to power their mobile ordering. This year, the team partnered with Bondi Boulangerie and Barrow and Bear Travel + Coffee, two famous Australian brands with loyal followings and distinct stories, to launch custom ordering apps for their guests.

Barrow and Bear, a café and travel agency fusion with locations in Wavell Heights and Morayfield, began working with Per Diem earlier in the year. The brand brings together specialty coffee, food inspired by trips around the world, and full-service travel planning under one roof. With their new app, Barrow and Bear guests can order ahead, pay online with options like Apple Pay, and pick up coffee and food without waiting in line. The team also uses the app to share app-only offers and special announcements via push notifications.
Bondi Boulangerie joined Per Diem later in the year and launched its custom app in November. The bakery is known for French-style pastries, croissants, and coffee, with locations in Bondi Beach and the Sydney central business district. The new app lets regulars order their favourite items ahead for pick up, while keeping the look and feel of Bondi Boulangerie at the centre of the digital experience.
"Just amazing. We had a try for one of our location and rolled it out to all quickly," said the Bondi Boulangerie owner after seeing how the app worked in their stores.
For both brands, the move to a branded app reflects how their guests already live and order. Office workers and locals in coastal suburbs are used to planning coffee and food stops on the way to work, the beach, or a meeting. A direct app gives them a simple way to place those orders at the venues they already know, rather than through generic marketplaces, and gives staff a clear ticket that drops into the existing Square point of sale flow.

For Per Diem, these launches mark a deeper step into the Australian market and a closer relationship with merchants who care about the details of service. Working with teams like Barrow and Bear and Bondi Boulangerie shows how a branded app can support very different styles of hospitality while still running on the same underlying tools.
Per Diem builds mobile ordering and online ordering products for cafés, bakeries, and restaurants that use Square point of sale. The company focuses on helping local merchants offer a clear and simple way for guests to order ahead, earn rewards, and pay online.
