Product Updates: Automatic Discounts, Points Per Any Dollar Amount, and More.

Automatic Discounts
Buy-one-get-one and other automatic deals now apply to web ordering. The discount is added at checkout without the customer entering a code. Merchants can also limit an automatic discount to the mobile app only. Automatic discounts in the mobile app will be available with the new app version.
Points Per Any Dollar Amount
Loyalty used to be fixed at 1 point per $1 spent. Merchants can now choose the dollar amount that earns a point. For example, at 1 point per $10, a $20 order earns 2 points and an order under $10 earns none.
Round-Up Option for Points
Merchants can now turn on rounding for points, which rounds half up. At 1 point per $10, a $15 order earns 2 points instead of 1, so customers are rewarded for orders that land between point thresholds.
Location-Based Loyalty Promotions
Loyalty promotions like 2x points can now run at specific locations instead of all of them. When a customer selects a location with a promotion, the app shows a note like "2x points." This is useful for boosting a slow store or running a local event.
Exclude Modifiers From Rewards
By default, a reward discounts the item and all of its modifiers. Merchants can now set a reward to cover only the base item price, so paid add-ons like extra shots or toppings are still charged.
Cap Modifiers on Rewards
Merchants can limit how many modifiers a reward covers; for example, when a customer adds more than the limit, the reward covers the most expensive modifier and the rest are charged.
Smarter Favorites
When a customer saves a favorite item, the modifiers they chose are saved with it. If the merchant later marks one of those modifiers out of stock or hides it, the favorite is checked again when it is added to the cart. Customers can no longer reorder something that isn't available.
