Enable Square order notifications without a KDS
If you’re not using a printer or kitchen display system, it’s essential to stay on top of new orders—and Square makes it easy with in-app alerts.
Instructions:
Here’s how to enable order alert notifications on Square POS so you never miss a new order:
- Log in to your Square POS on your device.
- Tap More at the bottom of your screen.
- Navigate to Settings > Orders > Alerts & Notifications.
- Toggle the setting ON to enable pop-up alerts every time a new order comes in - Square guide.
- To enable alerts in the Per Diem app, follow this guide.
- With both Square and Per Diem alerts enabled, you’ll never miss an order—even during peak hours.

1. Open the Square App
Log in to your Square POS on your device.
2. Go to Orders Settings
- Tap More at the bottom of your screen.
- Navigate to Settings > Orders > Alerts & Notifications.
3. Turn On Order Alerts
