Zeitgeist Coffee

Zeitgeist has been part of Pioneer Square since 1997, and walking in feels like stepping into a neighborhood that existed long before stadiums brought crowds through twice a week. The space doubles as a working art gallery, with new exhibitions hung on the first Thursday of every month, and the high ceilings and brick walls give it a calm, unhurried feel that is rare this close to a stadium. The coffee is strong and European in style, the pastries come from Macrina Bakery, and the all-day breakfast and sandwich menu make it as useful at 9 am as it is at 3 pm. For fans arriving hours early to soak up the neighborhood before a match, or anyone who needs a coffee and a quiet moment before the noise of the stadium takes over, Zeitgeist is the right kind of stop.
