Salumi

Salumi does not need the World Cup to draw a line out the door, and it will not need it this summer either, but it is worth knowing about if you are walking to Lumen Field from Pioneer Square. The shop has been curing its own salami, mortadella, and porchetta since the 1990s, and the sandwich menu is built entirely around what just finished curing or roasting that week. The porchetta sandwich, when it is on the menu, is the one regulars chase, with crackling skin and meat that falls apart against fresh bread. With over 1,500 reviews and a reputation that has outlasted plenty of trendier openings nearby, Salumi remains one of the most reliable reasons to get to Pioneer Square early.
